About Us
We acquired Nordic Woods in 2024 with the goal of providing a top quality senior housing option for residents of the Brainerd Lakes area. With Sarah being a Family Medicine physician and Tyler an Emergency Medicine physician, we have seen firsthand the challenges seniors face when entering an assisted living and the problems that can arise. We hope to provide a family oriented, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. We have strong ties to the medical community in Brainerd/Baxter and believe our facility will be able to meet the emotional, physical, and medical needs of our residents unlike any other.
Catherine Hughes is a licensed assisted living director with years of experience in this role and a passion for making Nordic Woods a premier housing opportunity for seniors in the Brainerd Lakes area. Having gone through the transition to senior living with her own parents, she understands the important and difficult decisions that go into making this step, and is a welcoming presence and resource for families. Cathy brings her expertise from working in the food industry to highlight the importance of quality nutrition and special refreshments to add the familiar touches of home. She has held many leadership positions in various career fields and is not only a proven leader, but also a team player.
