About Us
We acquired Nordic Woods in 2024 with the goal of providing a top quality senior housing option for residents of the Brainerd Lakes area. With Sarah being a Family Medicine physician and Tyler an Emergency Medicine physician, we have seen firsthand the challenges seniors face when entering an assisted living and the problems that can arise. We hope to provide a family oriented, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. We have strong ties to the medical community in Brainerd/Baxter and believe our facility will be able to meet the emotional, physical, and medical needs of our residents unlike any other.
Catherine Hughes is a licensed assisted living director with years of experience in this role and a passion for making Nordic Woods a premier housing opportunity for seniors in the Brainerd Lakes area. Having gone through the transition to senior living with her own parents, she understands the important and difficult decisions that go into making this step, and is a welcoming presence and resource for families. Cathy brings her expertise from working in the food industry to highlight the importance of quality nutrition and special refreshments to add the familiar touches of home. She has held many leadership positions in various career fields and is not only a proven leader, but also a team player.
Nancy is a registered nurse with over 49 years of experience in various fields including long term care, home care, and hospice services. She has acquired a diverse skill set and extensive knowledge in the nursing field. She has proven ability to perform as a team player and leader with her experience working in roles as RN supervisor and care coordinator. Nancy is also a neighbor of Nordic Woods and is dedicated to making this a great place for senior living in our community.
Ranae is a registered nurse with extensive experience in long term care as well as hospital settings. She brings her experience as a leader and manager, and also her keen sense of acuity from her time working in the hospital and infusion center. She has found working in the assisted living setting most rewarding, as she finds the bond and trust formed with residents a special part of her job.
